The 67th session of the Council for Science and Technology Policy was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence on May 18, 2007.
The Council discussed the strategic roadmap for technological innovation organized by executive members. The decision was made to incorporate the roadmap in the final compilation of Innovation 25.
In addition, the Council was told about water use technology employing reverse osmosis membranes as an example of Japanese technology that makes a contribution to the world.
Prime Minister Abe concluded the session with the comment, "Innovation 25 is gaining worldwide attention. It was very good to have this clear indication that the scientific and technological advances made by means of the strategic roadmap for technology have a positive effect on human life, and make the world a better place. It is important to move ahead with projects that return the results of advances to society, so the people can know firsthand how their own lives are being changed for the better through innovation."
