Plenary meeting & Expert Panel
  The CSTP convenes once every month as a rule, Expert Panel holds accordingly, and meeting of the Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy with CSTP executive members takes place about once a week.

(1)Investigation and deliberation on basic policy relating to science and technology
(2)Investigation and deliberation on guidelines on Budgetary/Personnel Research Allocation
(3)Evaluation of research and development of national importance
Expert Panel on Basic Policy(Since 1 July. 2009)
Investigation and study relating to basic policy measures related to S&T, to contribute to drawing up the 4th S&T Basic Plan (for FY2011-2015) and to promote the 3rd S&T Basic Plan (for FY2006-2010) .
Working Group
Expert Panel on Promotion Strategy for Prioritized Areas (Since 18 Jan. 2001)
Investigation and study relating to promotion strategy centered on the four prioritized areas : life science, ICT, environmental science, and nanotechnology/materials.
Project Team
Expert Panel on Evaluation (Since 18 Jan. 2001)
Investigation and study relating to the overall evaluation of the government funded R&D, for instance the development of rules for evaluating R&D, and the evaluation of nationally important R&D such as large-scale ones related to S&T.
Expert Panel on Bioethics (Since 18 Jan. 2001)
Investigation and study relating to bioethics in response to rapid development of life science.
Expert Panel on Management of Intellectual Properties (Since 30 Jan. 2002)
Investigation and study relating to comprehensive strategies for the protection and utilization of intellectual property.
Project Team

* Besides these, Meeting of the Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy with CSTP executive members takes place as a place for an exchange of views concerning science and technology policy (about once a week).
