Japanese youth goodwill mission

The Japanese Goodwill Mission

The Japanese Youth Goodwill Mission Program sends about 70 youths in total to five regions: Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Central and South America by air for 23 days. In the country visited, the mutual understanding between Japanese and local youth is deepened through visiting to facilities in various field such as culture, industries,education, and youth activities, as well as joint experiences such as voluntary works and social welfare activities, homestay and other exchanges with the local youth.
The Japanese Youth Goodwill Mission Program started in 1959 to commemorate the wedding of H.M. the Emperor, who was the Crown Prince at that time, and it was reorganized and upgraded in 1994 to commemorate the wedding of the present H.I.H. the Crown Prince.

The Invitation of Foreign Youth to Japan

The Invitation of Foreign Youth Program invites about 120 youths from seven regions: Southeast Asia, Oceania, Southwest Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Central and South America to Japan for about one month.  The mutual understanding between Japanese and foreign youth is deepened through visits to various facilities and participation in the International Youth Village as well as together participation in social welfare activities, traditional culture, homestays and other exchanges with Japanese youth.

The International Youth Conference

This conference provides opportunity for the Japanese youth who are to be sent overseas and the foreign youth invited from overseas to Japan through the International Youth Development Exchange Program to gather and they discuss the topics such as the ideal way of international exchange between Japan and the respective countries and the ideal ways of cooperation among the ex-participants after the program.
