Ms. Takaichi exchanges greetings with Vietnam's Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Hoang Van Phong, before the closing ceremony

Ms. Takaichi delivered a congratulatory address at the closing ceremony for the first session of the Japan-Vietnam Joint Committee on Cooperation in Science and Technology, which took place at Mita House on March 7, 2007.
This joint committee session was the first to be held under the Japan-Vietnam Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement, which was signed in Hanoi in August last year.
In her congratulatory address, Ms. Takaichi expressed the hope that this successful session of the joint committee would stimulate the increasing development of science and technology cooperation between the two countries, and declared her confidence that this would lead the way for the whole of East Asia.
