Subject Concerning the import of Japanese swords, abolition of the import quota or at least shortening of the deliberation period (1-2 months) for the import quota, when the importer has the registration certificate issued from a local board of education or the permission of a public safety commission.
Details of Measures Explanations were made that Japanese swords must be considered an import quota item, because it was necessary to ensure that only those who had obtained the official permission could obtain them when they were imported, and to grasp the exact number of them imported. Explanation was also made that the deliberation period was about 12 days from application for the import quota to approval. The complainant has understood the explanation.
