Subject | Concerning the import of crocodile hide processed goods (purse), simplification of the documents to be submitted
Details of Measures | In order that the import of this product may be approved, the government of its exporting or re-exporting country must certify that this crocodile was obtained before application of the Washington Convention (CITES) or that it was bred in captivity for commercial purpose. Explanations were made that the documents submitted concerning this product had been incomplete; the export permit had not contained the above mentioned certificate, and so the submission of the certificate had been requested, and that our country was only performing its obligations under the Washington Convention (CITES) and not enforcing such a strict control system over the product as other countries.
