Details of Measures | 1. It was explained to the complainant that issuance of the plant quarantine certificate is the obligation for every member country of the international plant protection convention, and that is not only Japan which makes such a requirement. 2. It was also explained that, to our inquiry about the implementation of the Washington Convention (CITES), the US government replied that phytosanitary certificate was necessary as before for the export of artificially grown orchids, and that Japan does not make any stricter requirement on certificates than any other countries. |
