Subject Concerning the specification of lactic acid as a food additive,
1. Abolition of the content standards.
2. Abolition of the ether test.
Details of Measures 1. It will be explained that the contents standards will be discussed so as to be revised into FAO/WHO standard values (50 - 90%).
2. It will be explained that the ether test for lactic acid will not be abolished because it has been set up to prevent lactic acid products from impurities such as unexpected sub products and abnormal fermentative substances other than sugars.
