Subject | Propriety of importing a food deodorant cream as cosmetic | ||
Details of Measures | After we inquired to the complainant about the ingredients and quantities of the product in order that we may judge whether the product belongs to a drug, a quasi-drug or cosmetic, the complainant (seller) informed us that he had decided not to export the product because he could not obtain the data for ingredients and quantities of the product from the manufacturer. Incidentally in Japan, every importer, when applying for the license of import business, etc. must make clear the ingredients and quantities of products, whether they are a drug, a quasi-drug or cosmetic, from the viewpoint of securing safety of these products. |
