Subject Concerning the sea transport of imported goods in Okinawa,
1. Reduction of the sea freightage of the Okinawa Line Freight Conference.
2. Reduction of the long shore stevedoring charges to the same level as that in the main land.
Details of Measures 1. Reply was made to the complainant as follows:
The Okinawa line Freight Conference reported to MOT that cost factors have increased steadily after they had filed the latest tariff in February, 1980; nevertheless they haven't raised the sea freight rate since then. The current tariff is considered to be reasonable.
2. Reply was made to the complainant as follows:
The long shore stevedoring charges are determined by the approval procedure stipulated in the relevant law; therefore, the charges in Okinawa are to be proper.
