Subject | Exemption from the post-entry quarantine in the import of the bulbs of narcissus for indoor cultivation which were cut and sprouted in the exporting country.
Details of Measures | It was explained that bulbs of narcissuses must be planted in quarantine for a given period and allowed to sprout so that the plant protection inspectors can ascertain whether or not they are infected at the time of import, since it is impossible to ascertain the presence or absence of virus infections from the bulbs alone, but that this quarantine requirement may not be needed in such cases as it is possible to ascertain from the leaves and stem whether or not these plants are virus infected.
