Details of Measures | It was explained that it is impossible to blindly allow the import of all existing chemical substances from overseas since there is great disparity in the numbers, classification, and ascertained safety of existing chemical substances and since many of these substances are still of questionable safety. It was also explained, however, that import approval consideration is given to foreign data for existing chemical substances whose safety has been proved overseas that are new chemical substances in Japan, and that this consideration results in eliminating the need for the importer to conduct safety tests and reducing the costs involved. |
