Subject | Setting of the JIS standards for rubber vulcanization testing equipment be in basic agreement with the ISO standards.
Details of Measures | Although this refers to criteria being independently considered by "the Society of Rubber Industry, Japan" and not the Japanese government, it was explained that this question has to do with standards now being studied by "the Society of Rubber Industry Japan", and that the subcommittee charged with performing the necessary studies in the Society began study of the complainant's equipment in February 1988. The claimant's explanations ended in May 1989 and the sub-committee has continued studying the problem since then. However, it is explained that at its meeting held August 1, 1990, it was decided that the JIS standards to be set for the rubber vulcanization testing equipment be made to agree with the ISO standards as far as possible, and this coordination effort with ISO be also made in future JIS revision and institution on this equipment.
