Subject | Exemption was requested from the plant quarantine inspection requirement for processed rice flour products.
Details of Measures | Plant products and processed plant products using rice flour and other cereal flours have been treated the same as cereal flours for plant quarantine. However, it was replied that, because it has been determined that there is no danger of infestation by pests for some processed flour products that entail a high degree of processing, it was decided from now on to exempt from inspection for those products for which no danger of infestation can be ascertained from the data (1) documents on processing process and controls in place and (2) documents on processing ratio, analysis results, and other data provided from the importer.
