Details of Measures | It was replied that national government dose not have any specific regulations or standards for activated carbon to be used in water purification, and that the local water authorities are authorized to decide such questions, including the question of specifications. Because this particular instance involves a problem with the interpretation of the specifications set forth by the Chiba water authority, the national government is in no position to comment on the substantial issues here. However, it was explained that the government stands ready to request the Chiba water authority to provide full explanation of its specifications as necessary. |
