Details of Measures | 1. It was replied that this inspection was conducted because polysorbate was found in the imported processed tomato products and because there were reports that polysorbate is widely used in similar products in the United States. At the same time, it was replied that safety must be ascertained from the test data and that, as shown in this particular instance, it is impossible to discriminate among manufacturers in applying the inspection requirements. 2. It was replied this inspection has to be conducted promptly as soon as there is a violation or suspected violation of the Food Sanitation Law, and it is impossible to notify the manufacturer ahead of time. |
