Details of Measures | It was replied that Japan has a long history of knives and swords being used to inflict injury, that knives and swords are the weapon of choice for Japanese gang stars, that there is a strong likelihood of their being used for criminal purposes, and that there are therefore laws regulating the possession of knives and swords. Along with explaining exactly what types of knives and swords are regulated, it was explained that these are not discriminatory regulations aimed at sporting knives and that the regulations are not framed to ensure owner safety but are seen as necessary to preventing the criminal use of knives and swords. | ||
