||
Details of Measures | 1. It was replied that, although the Republic of Korea is not a signatory to the Convent on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (the Washington Treaty), it does have an agency authorized to issue the necessary certification (re-export certification, etc.) and the complainant should apply for the appropriate certification there. 2. At present, there are 103 signatory countries to the Washington Treaty regulating and controlling the import and export of 1, 050 endangered species under the Treaty. Because the Treaty mandates the approval of the exporting country before any fauna, flora, and products involved can be imported, it was replied that, in keeping with the Treaty, it is impossible to simplify these procedures. |
