The complainant was advised to have a voluntary inspection done because there was no documentation attached showing inspection results of an inspection agency on the list of foreign official inspection agencies. 2. It was further replied that procedures exist for abbreviating the inspection at the quarantine station when inspection results of an inspection agency designated by Ministry of Health and Welfare or an inspection agency on the list of foreign official inspection agencies are available but that it is up to the importer whether or not he wishes to take advantage of these procedures and that inspection may be performed by food inspector if necessary when the requisite certification is not attached. |
