Details of Measures | Seeking to facilitate smooth import procedures for foodstuffs and other products, Japan currently accepts inspection results from foreign official inspection agencies and has vastly simplified import inspections. In so doing, it has been necessary to require clear indication not only of the results of the inspection by the foreign official inspection agency but also that the foreign official inspection agency has actually inspected the items being import. The problem raised by the complainant in this case is that the certificate issued from a foreign official inspection organization in the Netherlands was revised in from, but the new certificate form had difficulties confirming of import whether the foreign official inspection organization made inspection at each time. So the exporter asked Dutch Government to confirm the inspection certificate system in the Netherlands and change the certificate form, but has received no definite reply from the government yet. However, it was explained that the certificate at issue which concerns the inspection of DGMEE (diethylene glycol mono ethyl ether), of which ban was however removed on December 21, 1990 regarding the perfumes from the Netherlands, and the certificate has since become unnecessary. |
