| Details of Measures | The government explained that the regulations on swarms of colon bacilli based on the Food Sanitation Law are viewed as guidelines for food sanitation and have been firmly established as the sanitation standards in Japan. The government also explained that, in view of the recent development of food production technology, diversification of consumer tastes, and progress in international interchanges, the meat product standards based on the Food Sanitation Law were revised as of March 17, 1993 and the standards Sewerage Law on microorganisms were reviewed in their entirety. |
