Subject | Integration of the blow-off coefficient of spring safety valves under the High Pressure Gas Control Law into international standards | ||
Details of Measures | Under the High Pressure Gas Control Law, it was not approved to use of the nominal blow-off coefficient adopted by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the U.S. National Board, the Japanese Industrial Standards, etc. with regard to spring safety valves used in high pressure gas equipment. But the government explained that it would consider adding a method of calculating a blow-off coefficient from the actual measurement by JIS B8225 to its Notifications, after studying the measuring methods, etc., in the U.S. Later, the blow-off coefficient calculated from the actual measurement by JIS B8225 and the coefficients calculated by similar or superior methods were added by revising the Notifications. As to safety valves, the blow-off area standards were replaced by the blow-off volume standards calculated in order to make them conform to JIS, etc. |
