Subject | Relaxation of special standards for hazardous goods containers pertaining to the import of containers for transporting liquids | ||
Details of Measures | Overland transport of hazardous materials must be carried out in moving tanker facilities or in transport containers meeting specific standards. Regarding containers for transporting liquids, except for flexible containers for liquids, no standards exist for such containers because they are not used. However, since the complainant wants to use containers for transporting liquids for the transport of hazardous substances, they were advised that standards would be overhauled during fiscal 1994 while monitoring trends in regulations for sea transport, with a view to achieving harmonization with these regulations. |
