Subject | Issuing of passing certificates for testing of imported pressurized gases | ||
Details of Measures | Under the High-pressure Gas Control Law, pressurized gases imported in Japan must obtain the approval of the prefectural governor and be tested. In the example in this complaint, even though the number of containers of carbon dioxide imported was greater than the quantity shown on the import declaration and the application for testing of imported pressurized gases, it was clarified that the importer was not required to return all the product to the exporter; the importer was required to return only the number of containers (one) in excess of the quantity entered. A passing certificate for testing of imported pressurized gases was issued for the number of pressurized gas containers shown on the forms (481 units). |
