| Details of Measures | Since artificial (non-edible) sausage casings are in direct contact with foods, the Food Sanitation Law sets specification standards from the viewpoint of public health and carries out the necessary regulation. 1. Regarding extension of the validity period for the testing certificate mentioned in this complaint, in accordance with a Cabinet decision of July 1994 (General Plan for Deregulation), as of December 1994, for products made in the same manufacturing plant, using the same manufacturing method, the same ingredients, the same additives and the same amount of additives, if certified as presenting no problems when notification of first import is made, the testing certificate will be accepted for an unlimited period. 2. The complainant was advised that in the case of products whose color or printing method differs, each type of product must be inspected, since inspection results generally differ. |
