Subject | Issuance of automobile customs clearance certificate pertaining to import of motorcycle frames | ||
Details of Measures | The complainant was advised as follows regarding issuance of automobile customs clearance certificates for imported motorcycle frames (frames excluding engines, tires, etc.). Under Article 102 of the Customs Tariff Law (Issuance of Certificates, etc.), when a party requests the issuance of customs certificates, certificates for import, customs duty payment and automobile customs clearance are issued. Automobile customs clearance certificates under Customs form C-8050 set out by basic directives concerning the Customs Law are issued only for automobiles in complete form; for others, ordinary customs clearance certificates are issued. Although the complainant was concerned that certificates might not be accepted by land transport offices when a vehicle number was assigned if no automobile customs clearance certificate was issued, the ministry was informed after checking with the Ministry of Transport that there was no direct connection between this and whether ordinary customs clearance or automobile customs clearance certificates had been issued, and the complainant was advised to consult directly with land transport offices or other bodies. |
