Subject | Tariff classification pertaining to imports of sheep's milk | ||
Details of Measures | The complainant was advised as follows regarding application of different tariff rates to sheep's milk and cow's milk. Milk and cream, which are classified under item No. 04.01 of the Annexed Tariff of the Customs Tariff Law, in conformity with the Harmonized System for Product Naming and Classification (HS Treaty), are divided into three classes, according to fat content (Nos. 0401-10, 0401.20 and 0401.30 respectively). The same applies in the United States, the EC and other countries concluding the treaty (85 countries as of April 1996). Further, the rules for products classified under No. 0401.20 are based on transactions in milk and cream among the main producer countries at the time of the original treaty. |
