Comments

The World Bank Group supports increased private sector participation in infrastructure sectors, and developing countries can rely on well on smart public private partnerships schemes to bridge the access gap in infrastructure services. The World Bank Institute which is the learning and knowledge sharing branch of the World Bank Group plays a crucial role in that respect by disseminating international best practices and experiences on PPP in infrastructure and social sectors. I welcome this very valuable platform that will allow us to exchange views, ideas and experiences in the design or implementation of PPP programs in our respective countries.

Comments

The EIB, a public sector bank ownded by the 27 Member States of the European Union, is Europefs largest single funder of PPP projects. The Bank is currently exploring, in collaboration with PPP Taskforces in a number of Member States, the European Commission and others, the possibilities for establishment of a European PPP Expertise Centre (EPEC) which would operate a European public sector forum for exchange of experience and best practice in PPP procurement. We look forward to participating in the Web Conference as a complement to this activity.
