In Japan, the most frequently cited worries was 'getting a job' (33.9%), followed in descending order by 'money' (31.0%), 'work' (27.4%), 'my health' (13.9%) and 'studies' (13.0%), while the rate of those who said that they did not have any worries was 20.5%.
When being compared with the previous survey, the share of the response 'getting a job' increased from 26.8% to 33.9% and that of the response 'studies' also increased from 9.9% to 13.0%. Meanwhile, the percentage of respondents who did not have any worries declined from 28.2% to 20.5%. Looking at the changes over the years, the item 'getting a job' moved up in rank. (Table 7-3)
Looking at the other countries, the item 'getting a job' was ranked first in Korea as in Japan. 'Money' came first on the list in the U.S., Sweden and Germany. The items ranked high were as follows: 'politics and society' in the U.S., Sweden and Germany, 'relations with the opposite sex' in Korea and Germany, and 'getting into the school of my choice' in Korea and Sweden. The percentage of those who did not have any worries was high in Japan and Germany, at 41.8% and 20.5% respectively. (Table 7-4)

In Japan, 59.5% of the respondents said that they would talk to 'friends in the neighborhood or school' when they had troubles or worries. Some frequently cited responses included 'mother' (43.6%), 'boyfriend/girlfriend' (21.8%), 'father' (20.3%), and 'brother and sisters' (18.2%).
When compared with the previous survey, the category 'friends in the neighborhood or school' increased from 52.4% to 59.5%. (Table 7-5)
Looking at the other countries surveyed, the majority of the respondents of countries other than Korea would talk to their 'mothers' for advice. 'Friends in the neighborhood or school' was the top choice among the Korean respondents as in the case of the Japanese. (Table 7-6)
