Community Core Leaders Development Program (Core) for FY2019
In order to build a Cohesive Society community where each diverse individual puts one’s own abilities to good use, actively participates in society and supports each other, enrichment of endeavor by various actors such as resident, non-profit organization and administrative body is essential.
Community Core Leaders Development Program aims at development of practical operation and management capability necessary for non-profit organization management, coordination with related organizations and constructing human networks, by conducting sending and inviting programs for young professionals in those fields of older people, persons with disabilities and youth, encouraging to interact among those who try to solve similar issues in respective areas.
Outline
The program consists of the Sending Program of Japanese Youths and the Invitation Program of Foreign Youths.
Themes
- Field of Older People: Necessary cooperation for supporting independence of older people in local community
- Field of Persons with Disabilities: Further enhancement of social participation of persons with disabilities in local community
- Field of Youth: Development of human resource to support growth of children and young people
Sending Program
27 Japanese Participants who are engaged in social activities were sent to Kingdom of the Netherlands (Activities for the field of Older People), Italian Republic (Activities for the field of Persons with Disabilities) and Republic of Finland (Activities for the field of Youth) from November 15 to 24, 2019. During the Program they visited institutions and had discussions in relation to their fields in respective countries.
Invitation Program
26 Foreign Participants from Netherlands, Italy, and Finland who are engaged in social activities were invited to Japan from November 26 to December 10, 2019.
They participated in the NPO Management Forum and Regional Program and visited institutions and had discussions in relation to their fields in respective countries.
NPO Management Forum
Date: November 27th - 30th, 2019
Participants were divided into following three topic groups and had discussions.
Topic 1: New form of collaboration and network to create Cohesive Society
Topic 2: Encouraging participation of various people to support Cohesive Society
Topic 3: Policy making and political participation
Regional Program
From December 3 to 8, 2019 foreign youths visited Shimane (Activities for Older People), Ishikawa (Activities for Persons with Disabilities) and Kagoshima (Activities for Youth). They observed related institutions and had discussions with the staff and participated in the Local Seminar.
The purpose of the visit was to understand local level efforts and actions in those fields and to exchange views and experiences of the participating countries with Japanese professionals who work in the same fields in those prefectures.
