Subject In labeling of textile goods,
1. Acceptance of the International Standard (ISO) on laundry care labeling.
2. Acceptance of English words for the component fibers labeling besides cotton, wool and silk.
3. Expansion of the scope of articles on which labeling in English is admitted.
Details of Measures 1. Reply was made that the request could not be accepted because there is no such International Standard.
2. Reply was made that careful examination would be made on whether such English words can be understood by general consumers.
3. Reply was made that expansion of the scope of the articles was considered ineffective as they are commonly represented together with the items which should be shown in Japanese (e.g. water repellency, flame resistance, etc.).
