| Details of Measures | In case of importing toy fireworks, it is required to obtain an import permit from the relevant prefectural government. The complainant applied to the Tokyo Metropolitan government for an import permit for rocket jet-propulsion equipment, but he was told that the importation of the rocket jet-propulsion equipment as toy fireworks is not allowed. Investigations by the Safety Division of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry found that the rejection of the application was based on a misunderstanding. The government therefore explained to the complainant and the Tokyo metropolitan government that the rocket jet-propulsion equipment in question can be imported as toy fireworks. It replied that the jet-propulsion equipment for model planes or model rockets with 5 grams of powder or less would be treated as toy fireworks. | ||
