Details of Measures | Concerning the transport of high cube containers, as a results of examining the problems of traffic safety, conservation of the road structure, regulations for the size of other domestic vehicles, etc., it was decided to deal with this case under the following policy an reply was made to the complainant as follows: Concerning the passage of high cube marine containers (Marine Containers having dimensions of length of 40 feet, height 9 feet 6 inches; for loading export and import goods which are transported without domestic reloading), because it is impossible to develop and introduce extra low bed chassis (chassis in which the loaded height of high cube marine containers would be equal to or less than 3.8 meters), and in view of the fact that the container is utilized for the international multi model transport, permission to exceed load limits allow transit of special vehicles is granted on the following grounds: the goods cannot be divided (Road Traffic Law article 57 clause 3) and the goods are special cases(Road Law article 47-2 clause 1). Permission shall hereby be granted for passage over the appropriate roads and under condition necessary for safety, taking into consideration the state of the road and the amount of traffic involved. |
