Annual Report on the Aging Society:

The Annual Report on the Aging Society has been submitted to the Diet on an on-going basis by the government since 1996. The report is based on the Basic Law on Measures for the Aging Society. It clarifies the status of the aging population, how measures are being implemented for aging society, and future measures in consideration of such status of aging.
The Annual Report on the Aging Society: 2005 consists of two parts: 1) The Annual Report on Status of Aging and Implementation of Measures for Aging Society in FY 2004 and 2) Measures for Aging Society planned in FY 2005.
The Annual Report on Status of Aging and Implementation of the Measures for Aging Society in FY 2004 contains:
Chapter 1 Report on the status of aging based on fundamental statistics, etc.
Chapter 2 Implementation situations of policies for aging society measured by the government in FY 2004, which is reported along the structure of General Principles Concerning Measures for the Aging Society
Further clarified are the policies on aging society to be measured in FY 2005. In addition, a list of budgets (general account budget) related to measures for aging society in FY 2005 is attached.
