　伊江島に行ってホームステイをして来ました。伊江島では畜産業、農業、漁業など様々な分野に関わっています。
　私が泊まった家庭の方は食堂を営んでいて、多くの人が３３年間守られてきたソーキそばやミソ汁の味を楽しみに訪れます。親しまれてきた味を保つために、朝５時から仕込みを始めるそうです。私達も微力ながら皿洗いや接客、宅配などを手伝いました。こういう経験をするのは初めてで、勉強になりました。意外と忙しかったですが、終わった後に食べたソーキそばの味は格別でした。

　私にとって一番楽しみだったのがホームステイでした。どんな家庭の方と一緒に生活できるかわくわくしていました。事実、受け入れてくれた家庭の方は本当に優しくて、初対面にも関わらず私達をまるで本当の子供のように接してくれました。伊江島は小さな島ですが、だからこそ人々のぬくもり、温かさが溢れ出ているのだと思いました。

  First day on le Island didn’t turn out too well because I fell sick and it rained the entire day, disrupting the activities that we planned to do. However thanks to okaa-san’s warm hospitality, I was quickly nursed back to health in less than a day.
  Second day on Ie Island was much more eventful. We scaled the hill in the center of the island in the morning. On the hilltop we were treated to a supreme view of the entire island. After that, our host family br//ought us to the beach. Beach on Ie Island was unlike anything I have ever seen it Singapore. The water ware … clear. You could see right to the bottom. The sand is also white unlike the br//own ones in Singapore.
  The highlight of the day was probably being taught handy craft by okaa-san. Despite the difficult process and many dead ends encountered, I managed to complete the decoration”thing” (I forgot what was it called in Japanese). The fruits of my hand labor now hang out my bag.

  Ie Island was an experience that I will never forget.
